While looking for a home business opportunity, the best way to protect yourself is to know what to look out for. There are a lot of them that are cloaked very well to look very legitimate, while in actually they are there to rob you blind. Watch out for mass mailing programs where it seems like it will produce a lot of money, but you actually don’t see very much. Many of the things on the Internet designed to steal your money started a long time before the Internet age, but there are some new ones and variations on variations on old ones online.
Does the home business opportunity require any special skills? Do you even need to sell anything? Then stay away from that one. I would be really surprised if it is not bogus. Does it have a picture of a luxury car or a mansion, or someone sipping a tropical drink? Well, we all know how the really rich people got rich - by sipping mai-tais on the beach.
But perhaps one of my all-time favorites as swindles go for a home business opportunity is when they tell you how they will mentor you to make thousands per month relatively quickly. And when you click in the right-side scroll area, you have to click over 50 times before you get to the bottom. And all the while they are showing you pages and pages of testimonials, a little video here or there perhaps, but they are not asking for any money on that page - no, that would be too obvious. They want you to click onto another page and read more testimonials and things of that nature, then further down they will show you all the bonuses you will get. And what I like most about the bonuses is how they assign value to them, when their actual value is petty close to zero.
But that might still not be where they want you to buy whatever they are selling. They want you to pay a fee to find out what they are really talking about. Now when they snag people from that type of advertising, those are the people whose email addresses I want. I just know I have a bridge somewhere that I can sell them . . .
So what is this home business opportunity actually selling? Who knows? I never found out. I don’t send money for something I have no idea about. But I will bet that the business is selling that same thing to other people, that is, getting people to pay a fee to find out how to get people to pay a fee. Stop it already - I’m getting dizzy thinking about it!
So which was it, the chicken or the egg? I don’t know, or really care. But I do know that every legitimate business opportunity must have actual customers buying real products, that is why I buy customers in my home business opportunity. Check it out below.

I get emails every day from a lot of people about starting a home business. But a lot of people have been on the Internet and have not liked what they have seen regarding home businesses. They see a lot of things that are there one day and gone the next. So what prevents many people from starting a home business? There could be any number or reasons, but one stands out among the rest. However, before we talk about the most common reason, let’s discuss some of the minor reasons why people refuse to take advantage of the many home businesses that are available. It is something that is starting to affect more and more people every day now.
I am sure that more people would work from home if they were able. But one reason why people fail to start a home based business is the cost involved. Starting a home business takes money, although many home business opportunities are very affordable to set up. Many only have a small start-up fee to become an associate or distributor. However, what many people don’t realize is that money will be required each month if you plan to build your business. It does take money and a financial budget must be part of your business plan. How much money will be required? Well, that depends on a lot of factors.
What do you need to know when starting a home business? Some people will not take advantage of home business ideas for the simple reason they feel they lack the knowledge to operate a business. This may be true, but you certainly don’t need a business degree from Harvard to operate a business. What you do need is the self discipline and perseverance to keep up the pace required to build a successful home business. You gain the knowledge as you go. This can be done in a number of ways, from getting information from the Internet to having a mentor. So this can be overcome with the right guidance and just doing the research.
If you have a family that is behind you 100% in your home business, then you are especially lucky. Support from a spouse is another factor that determines whether or not someone considers starting a home business. This may not seem like a problem, but it can grow into a very serious situation once the un-supportive spouse realizes how much money is actually required to build a business. Once the start-up fee has been paid, you will have other costs on a monthly basis. And this is money being put out long before you have money coming in. Make sure your spouse realizes how much actual money you will be putting out on a monthly basis as you grow your business. Remember, regardless of the type of home business opportunities you consider, it will require a monthly out-put of cash. And in time, your business will return the favor.
I know that I like to succeed in everything I do, but I have been in several home businesses that have failed. But a lot of people just won’t take that chance. The most common reason why people refuse to think about Starting a home business is the fear of failing! For most of us the fear of failing, whether it’s a home based business or learning how to do something new, plays a very important role. As individuals we are sometimes too concerned with how others perceive us. And if we start a home business and fail to be successful we assume that others will think less of us if we try. There are tough decisions to be had by us all, and one of the hardest is, when you have been looking for home business opportunities and have found the one that works very well for you and you have begun to earn an income with it, when is the best time to quit your office job? Since you may not have insurance, and will definitely not have paid holidays, sick days or a lot of the other benefits from your regular employment, it takes a lot of courage and there will definitely be insecurity. There are no free rides in the pursuit of business success. So you need to be pretty sure that you are doing the right thing and that you have a sum of money saved up for emergencies.
What kind of a risk-taker are you? Are you a true entrepreneur and ready to take this critical plunge? If you are ready, this is the way that you will achieve your business pursuits and goals. Starting home business opportunities after giving up stable employment is never a walk in the park for any business owner. However the risks become calculated when you have the right idea, the money, and the ability to put in your best efforts, then you could expect great rewards. And if your business plan is in place and you have done the needed research, your odds of success increase dramatically. The risk takers are often responsible for the new and the unique.
On a bigger financial scale, risk takers have given us the telephone and the PC. Home Based Business - Built on Solid Ground
There are so many ways doubt and fear can creep in and steal our dream and confidence in developing a successful home based business. When we read about someone else’s meteoric rise to the top levels in a company in 7 days or whatever, it can make us wonder why not us.
May I suggest something to building a successful home based business?
Why should we care? We don’t know how much personal growth those folks went through before they started their home based business. We have no idea of how everything fell in place for them in building their residual income. Instead of making us feel less confidence, wouldn’t it be empowering to for us to BE encouraged to believe that perhaps the next meteor might be our personal enrollee?
The concept is about building on solid ground to have a success home based business. Build it right one time to have a long term residual income. We believe in respecting others and friends helping friends. We leave our egos at the door of the Home Based Business Team when we come in. Everyone is always a leader-in-training as true leadership is always about growing every day anyhow. Everyone has their unique gifts that add to the team, all for one and one for all.
Our home based business team will not be attractive to everybody; it wasn’t designed to be. It will be attractive to the right people wanting a long term and successful home based business. That’s our job in a way, to share with people in a way that helps them get a clear picture of who we are and what we do in terms of helping that other person develop a residual income. Like Frank says: “Just share the truth because the truth is good enough.” This way we will attract the right people and quality people are the solid ground we need.
It really comes down to building a base of contacts filled with nice people that are all at various stages of looking at what we have and gaining respect for who we are by the way we treat them. Since anybody with the “Right Stuff” can succeed in a home based business, it’s not about the speed of which we build it. Would you want to purchase a home made of poor quality material thrown up very quickly or would you prefer one built with quality material on a solid foundation and built properly in having a successful residual income?
Even if it took a whole year to develop that contact base properly before one person even enrolled, would it be worth it? In the coming year my intentions are to totally revamp and upgrade my contact base and share my story with some great people. Things take time to be done right in having a long term sustainable home based business.

Myth or Reality
To me the total idea of having a home based business has become a world of broken promises and lies. Even with the greatest desire to fulfill my dreams of working from home it has been trounced by all the scam and so-called proven business opportunities on the Internet.
I have followed all the advice that one can find on the Internet about starting a Home based business. I Have done Due diligence on each opportunity that I have joined over the years, have spend numerous hours, more than I really care to admit to spending. The hours that have been spent working on the computer trying to advertise and get my business and product in front of a greater number of possible customers.
As with any Home based business there will be cost to start up, even if most things say you can start from free. I think that the word "Free" needs to be removed and or restricted in it use on the free Internet. Using free in advertising is a deception that myself and the majority of people fall for more times then not. But after falling for so many free things that has cost me money, I just delete any e-mail I get with free in it and by pass all the Internet garbage.
All in all though, I will continue to look at ways to start my own home based business, just knowing that the chances are very slim to none. Without a desire and a dream I am not sure what I would do, but glory be to God he has given me a desire to succeed. I hope that as everyone in this world looks for the same chance to work from home that each of them and myself will finally find the rainbow.
